Training Commences - Season 08/09

After a brief break during the summer and with the tag rugby over it's back down to the business end of things for the Lions adult team, with training getting underway Monday last the 11th August, in what can only be describe as an Irish summers evening the numbers turned up and training commenced in the wet and blustery conditions of the tech field which has held up very well considering the recent weather we had.

Training was intense and hard considering it was the first training session of the new season and it's great to see the players and coaches desire to get things going, and if the first training session is anything to go by well it's going to be

a good tough season ahead. We expect the numbers to increase greatly as a lot of players are still involved in both hurling and football championship games in Offaly and this will only lead to huge competition for places for both the first and second teams and with also a number of new faces and old faces coming to join the Lions there will be a lot of headaches for the management which is to be Charlie Couper and Co. for the first team and Peter Auret and Co. coaching the seconds, an interesting and intense season lies ahead for the Lions,

Training will take place every Monday evening at 7.30 sharp in the NUN'S FIELD unless notified otherwise.

May this season bring as much success as the last!
